Description

Bokashi soil improver is an easily applicable ready-to-use Bokashi for the soil.

  • The litter is formed by the fermentation of straw flour and apple pulp by Effective Micro-organisms.
  • Bokashi is the pre-digested food for soil life.
  • Bokashi soil improver is an easily applicable ready-to-use Bokashi for the soil.
  • The litter is formed by the fermentation of straw flour and apple pulp by Effective Micro-organisms.
  • In the soil, it takes care of a more efficient conversion of organic material, and it increases biodiversity.
  • Besides that, it forms an ideal food source for the micro-organisms present on it.
  • Bokashi litter contains a lot of metabolic products (natural antibiotics, growth hormones, organic acids…), obtained by fermentation, which positively influences plant growth. Bokashi litter only contains raw materials that are allowed in organic farming.

Benefits

  • Bokashi stores nutrients for the soil
  • More energy in the soil = better crops
  • Converts food waste and similar organic matter into a soil amendment which adds nutrients and improves Soil Humus (Soil texture)
  • Like compost only better
  • Reduce harmful emissions
  • Retain more nutrients
  • Increase organic matter
  • Pre-digest food for the soil
  • FEED THE SOIL

With more Microbes in our soil we Improve the health of the soil, this helps plants:

  • More energy in the soil = better crops
  • Have stronger root structures
  • Better access to nutrition
  • More resistance to pests and disease
  • Note: because of its coarse structure Bokashi soil improver is less suitable for processing in substrates for seedlings and cuttings, it is better to use Bokashi bran.

Instructions

  • Work shallowly in the ground using 500g to 1kg per m2

Ingredients

  • The litter is formed by the fermentation of straw flour and apple pulp by Effective Micro-organisms.

What is Fermentation?

  • Fermentation is a process in which microorganisms like bacteria and yeast break down components in food  (e.g. sugars and carbohydrates) into other products like organic acids, gases or alcohol.
  • These products can preserve the food for a longer time period. This process of fermentation also gives food a unique taste, aroma, texture, and appearance.

What is Humus and why is it important?

  • The carbon fibres in organic matter are a life source for the soil. When Bacteria, Fungi, and yeasts consume organic matter: vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes are produced/made available.
  • The nutrient-rich decomposed material is called humus and forms the clay-humus complex.
  • This complex determines the stability in qualities of the soil and gives the capacity to retain nutrients and the soil solution.
  • Well-fermented organic material creates preservation of nutrients and energy (CO₂)
  • The humus produced from the Bokashi process gives an abundance of storage space for nutrients and moisture & activates soil life (worms love bokashi)
  • The rate at which soil organic matter is converted into humus promotes (when fast) or limits (when slow) the coexistence of plants, animals, and microorganisms in the soil.
