The first bran I got with my buckets smelt just like this when I opened it. The results were fantastic, I soon had a lovely bucket of pickled waste which broke down quickly and I was sold on bokashi. I’ve tried bran from 2 other places and they just smelt like malty cereal and were very dry. The results weren’t great and I used loads more bran. This one smells a bit vinegary, a bit acetone and is slightly moist. My bokashi is now back up to excellent. Very happy composter.

I am very pleased with the composting Bin.I am discovering it is best to chop vegetable matter etc up very small to aid the process,but my first attempt seems to be well on its way.

I only heard about this bokashi system from my brother in France so i was delighted when i found this online at a decent price. It’s easy to use and my waste bin doesn’t smell anymore as i can put lots of waste in this bin along with the bokashi bran. So far so good. Added bonus to get liquid waste as a concentrated plant feed too. I received the kit really quickly so i was using it within 2 days of ordering. No excess packaging on kit either. Brilliant service. Environmentally friendly too. Have already recommended it to a gardener knowing he’ll spread the word!
New to this concept but seems simple enough. We don't have room in the kitchen to store it so have made a lidded box to go outside and insulated to protect from frost etc. We'll see how we do.
